Hitachi Data Systems Displays Strong Suite of Storage Solutions at CeBIT 2007

Companies wishing to optimise their data in order to improve revenue and mitigate risk are invited to visit Hitachi Data Systems in Hall 1, Stand D45.

Hitachi Data Systems will join parent company, Hitachi Ltd., at CeBIT 2007 (15th-21st March) in Hannover, Germany. Under the overall theme, “Hitachi Technology Improves Your Life”, Hitachi Data Systems will focus on solutions for storage consolidation and data security for medium-sized businesses, as well as, storage management, archiving, virtualisation and tiered storage for the larger enterprise.

New Solutions for Medium-Sized Businesses
Following the recent announcement, Hitachi Data Systems will showcase six solutions for medium-sized businesses for data protection, storage consolidation and disaster recovery. Two of these easy-to-install solutions are designed for Microsoft platforms and contribute to fast cost reduction in the management of Microsoft Windows and SQL Server environments.

Virtualisation, Archiving and Tiered Storage
Hitachi Data Systems will showcase its dual storage product family - intelligent virtual storage controllers comprised of the Universal Storage Platform and Network Storage Controller and advanced midrange storage systems comprised of the Adaptable Modular Storage (AMS) and Workgroup Modular Storage (WMS) systems. With products spanning the small and medium business markets to the largest enterprise, Hitachi provides storage virtualization solutions, addressing the smallest to the most intricately complex data management issues, with sophisticated virtualization innovations that mask complexity and simplify overall management.
Visitors to the Hitachi stand will also see the Hitachi Content Archive Platform (HCAP), a solution for the active, long-term storage of business-critical information. HCAP is highly scalable and, regardless of the size of the storage environment, has only one management level for the search and retrieval of digital content. This therefore enables continuous classification and indexing of digital information, facilitating fast retrieval over the long term.
A DSL connection from 12 demo points on the stand directly to the Solution Centre in Dreieich will enable live demonstrations of the Hitachi solutions, such as tiered storage models, simple SAN, business continuity concepts and storage resource management.
Healthcare solutions
Continuing the theme “Hitachi Technology Improves Your Life,” Hitachi Data Systems will demonstrate how effective storage solutions improve access to medical information at the point of care. In the field of imaging in particular – radiotechnology, ultrasonics, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) – an enormous amount of data is emerging, which must be archived. Kodak, a key PACS partner, will demonstrate its VIP Archive system which in conjunction with the Hitachi Content Archive Platform helps organisations consolidate, manage, protect and access information across heterogeneous environments. Hitachi Medical Systems’ full body scanner can also be viewed at CeBIT.

Partners of Hitachi Data Systems at CeBIT
Nine partners will be presenting their solutions including Assistra, Bell Micro, Cema, Cisco, Ingram Micro and Kramer & Crew. These companies specialise in virtualisation, consolidation, business continuity, storage area management or backup and recovery.
